Statement

My work attempts to capture a landscape in transit. Environmentally we are in transit. Holding on to one fleeting view when travelling by train, tram or car seems to be incredibly important to me as a way to pause the loss of a destructive forward momentum.

The other aspect of my work is my fascination and love for my cats – their form, grace, clumsiness, playfulness and contentment inspire me even though they are not permitted to experience the outside world apart from their view through a window.

Prior to 2020
Most of my time from 2000 to 2020 involved running a small business teaching, curriculum writing and research for the Diploma of Visual Arts, Advanced Dip of Training & Assessment & Small Business Management.

This took me travelling to remote communities, contributing as best I could, and learning about Aboriginal culture from the people of Beagle Bay, Ardyaloon, Fitzroy Crossing, and Derby.
